SONARS

They state that you should not use HID with them but a lot of people do. SONAR is just covering themselves.

Re: What is the Best Projector Headlights????

Sonars just state not to use HID bulbs because they originally don't come fitted for them.

if you use an HID bulb on your normal power source without a ballast, they HID will light up, but it takes for ever to warm up and it pulls juice from the battery even while turned off and it kills people's batteries like that. i bet it's Sonar's way of protecting their butts from people saying "your headlights killed my HID bulbs / battery.".

the only issue with have single use bulbs is that you need 2 ballasts for each headlight housing. one for low beam and one for high beam... OR if the all done on the same wattage, do a custom switch system and use one ballast on each side and the ballast has full headlight relay power to it.

have the out going source go to a switching relay splitting it into two lines. the only issue i can see here though is when switching to another light single because the ballast would have already used the igniter and would only think that it's still on the same bulb path as before and may not light the second set of bulbs...

so it points back to 2 ballasts for each headlight housing. one for lows and one for highs.

Re: What is the Best Projector Headlights????

You can do a search and get an abundance of info as I did.
I went with Sonars as was the choice of many. One bit of advice I got from everyone that I'll pass on. No matter what brand you buy, or how much you pay for them, they'll ALL leak eventually !!! What needs to be done is to do the oven method and take them apart to RESEAL them ! Do this BEFORE you install. I've had mine goin on 3 years now and have not had 1 issue with them !!!
