| Re: Show us ur shift knobs. yeah just cutting off the loop and shaving it down so that its round, then attach the knob as per instructions(most have set screws).
be careful how you hold the dip stick when working with it cause it WILL snap on you, ha ha I know. And those damm things are like $17 at the dealer.
I did it on both oil and trans for Big Hungry(but we used crystal door knobs to go with his AC knobs, but works the same) |

| Re: Show us ur shift knobs. you got to trim them down and make them round at the top.
the plastic is pretty hard as well, you best bet is a Dremel. You could widdle it down with a sharp knife or a razor knife, but even then you still have to put a lot of pressure behind it. Thats how I broke mine the first time I did it. |

| Re: Show us ur shift knobs. thats the fun part.
a couple key points,
*make sure you leave enough room at the top so the dip stick sits all the way back in its place.
*You may need to trim around the engine cover to make room for the knob depending on size(had to do that on DOA with the dice)
*don't get something that is super heavy, causing strain on the stick and could break it.
other then those tips, just be careful like any other mod, and I am not responsible for your screw ups. |
