TYC tails install

ok...so i went to go and install the tails into my xbox...

readin the directions, it calls for the battery to be disconnected....uhm...WHY????

do i have to worry about a short going back to the box?...it says to disconnect only the negative connector also...trouble is, its locked on there freakin TIGHT...even using a wrench to try to take it off, and it doesnt want to budge...

so do i really need to remove it?...anything i need to worry about wiring?...it looks like a simple swap out...

When I rearranged the lights in my TYC lights I didn't disconnect the battery and everything was fine as well.

I've changed my tails several times and never disconnected once. I run a set of tails of which maybe 4-5 sets are in the US and didn't even bother. No issues at all.
