HELP! headlight question

I just finished blacking out my headlights.
I baked them and everything went just fine but when I was pulling off the blue tape it peeled off some of the reflective material.
What would be the best way to repair it??
Thanks for any help

Re: HELP! headlight question

what do you mean by the reflective part? can you take some pictures so I can understand what you did lol. I would say just paint over it is the blacked out part came off, but I don't know 100% what came off.

I should have posted a picture so here it is.
The grey area just above the black is what pealed off

A mod gone wrong. That headlight will never be the same. Get a new one.

Re: HELP! headlight question

bummer I was hoping for a fix. One good thing is this is a back up set of lights.
If anyone has an idea or something I can try let me know.

If you insist on fixing it, try some foil with adhesive backing. It still has to withstand the heat from the bulb and from having to bake it again to close it up though.

Re: HELP! headlight question

you might be able to find some fake chrome looking spray paint that MIGHT help a little. I would try it if you already have an extra set sitting around. Or just leave it since leov36 said its hardly noticeable. Sorry it went wrong though. Other than that, it looks good!

Re: HELP! headlight question

Next time that you try a mod like this...maybe try this trick. Since we know that the reflective material will come off VERY easily, cover the areas that you do not want paint to get on with petroleum jelly (yeah, vaseline). Once your newly painted area is dry, you can simply wipe away the vaseline and no harm done. I've done it before....works perfectly.
