I picked up my new '09 on July 4th! What a way to celebrate Independence Day and help break the chains of being so dependent on foreign oil!
My former ride was a '98 Ranger x and I was lucky to get 14mpg out of it. To give you an idea of how much money the xB is going to save me, since purchasing this sweet baby, I have already logged 4918 miles! I have a day spa equipment repair business and you could say I get around a bit. The sweetest part of it all, is that my customers pay me 70 cents a mile round trip to get to them and most are more than 100 miles away from me.
I am really looking forward to participating in the forum and getting to know you all. I hope you are all accepting of a 56 year old who thinks he's capable of running with the youngsters!
I just finished putting high intensity, tri-colored LED's under both sides of the console and two under each of the front seats one pointing forward and one aft. I have a switch box next to my seat that allows me to mix the tree colors to get several other colors. I have clear vinyl floor mats that actually transmit the light throughout the mats. It looks really sick! I freakin love it!
I am thinking about chopping the front roof line by about 2 or 3 inches and giving it an even more "Coupe" look than it already has. Let me know what you guys think and maybe you can help me talk my significant other into letting me do it.
The last time I got this involved in a ride it was a '78 Dodge B200 3/4 ton van that I customized myself. I put over 275k miles on that one in 3 1/2 years. Looks like I might beat that record.
Any way, I'm getting a little long winded here so let me close by saying that I hope I can call on you all for tips, tricks and insight, and I will do my best to help you guys (and gals) out too.
Until next time,
xB_ong out!
