| Re: Kanye Vs. 50 Cent.... unfortunately if you hear it in a club, it's probably on the radio.
the point i was trying to make was the fact that hip hop went from a reflection of what was happening in the comunity, to selling over priced champagne, watches, and gold teeth, it went from a art form to a mass marketing giant. such is the nature of anything going mainstream, there are a few going out being origional, but for the most part most are selling something or regurgitating someone else's styles.even sampling has gotten tired, what happend to fresh beats!
as far as "nerd rap" i would have to say i am a fan, it is refreshing to hear people flow for no reason other than to do it, we all have our "taste" and i am glad, ccause if we all liked the same shit, life would be hella boring. any hoots, the only "heads" i see bumpin that club shit are chicken heads...lol! |

| Re: Kanye Vs. 50 Cent.... I'm all about fresh beats too! I guess it's just a matter of taste. I get down to underground stuff, crack raps, gangster raps, hyphy, electro, and, yes, even some nerd rap, but I'll listen to the mainstream stuff too. I don't discriminate...lol. Yeah, I know hip-hop is as corporate as it gets, but it's just music, I don't need to "keep it real."
Really though, all hip-hop has already been done, mainstream AND underground, everybody is regurgitating something and everybody is trying to get you to buy into a lifestyle. There's no point in saying one style is better than the other. |

hahaha i'll listen to it once in a while but i guess i dont like the whole movement behind the music. it's like the more ghetto you try to act the cooler you are. honestly who decided that wearing an out fit with 14 different colors and some giant ass stunna shades and a hat bearly staying on your head( flat bill and sticker still on) was the cool thing to wear. |

To quote Del The Funky Homosapien
"Rap ain't about bustin caps and f**king bitches
It's about fluency with rhymin ingenuity"
Too bad a majority of artists today have no clue what that means. |
