| Show off your roll on paint!!! I've noticed that there are a few xB's on here with roll on paint, but I haven't seen any threads for us/them to show off their paint jobs, so I guess I'll have to start one.
I would like to see any before, during and after pics so that ppl can see all the stages, and I would also like to see the paint up close and from different angles that way any one who is thinking about tackling roll on paint can know what to expect. I'll start things off with a few pics:

| Re: Show off your roll on paint!!! haha chalkboard paint. I painted a wall of my garage with that stuff for writing notes working on cars and stuff. I have a friend with a "tropical orange" Mk4 GTI who stole a can of my chalkboard paint and did his front bumper with it. It was a hit at the shows, he would leave chalk on his bumper and people would write stuff all over it during shows/meets bla bla. he would come home with flames, pin stripes, happy faces, dicks, haha, then just wash it off and do it again. |

what paint did you use? | Yeah, I just taped off the top half, sanded down the bottom half, used flat black spray paint for the first couple of coats, the sprayed on chalkboard paint, and finally ended up using roll on chalkboard paint a couple of weekends later. I keep getting a lot of texture, but it's starting to grow on me . I'll take some more pics later on today and some more after the weekend when I finish with the touch ups.
Oh, and thanks gothbox and black_box for the pics. I'm gunna try and re-sand the whole car down soon cuz I still do want my paint to come out as smooth as your guy's es rides.

| Re: Show off your roll on paint!!! with the roll on how's the transition between that and the original paint?
seems like with roll on coats it seems like it would be a lot thicker and create a step up at the line. is that the case or is it alright? |

As far as my box it concerned, there's a line, but I don't mind. The roll on paint gets pretty thick with a couple of coats, but I guess if you're careful enough and only put one coat where the line is, then the line probably wouldn't be as dramatic. I'm fine with it for now...at least until I finally decide to paint the whole car |
