Re: New Shoes! . powdercoating help. . . ?

you should try: KLEAN-STRIP AIRCRAFT REMOVER Part Number: #AR 343. it works well. i saw a you tube vid about it and i tried and it works really good. although you may have a few probs cuz your wheels have so many spokes and hard to reach places....

i found the vid for ya if you wanna devote 6 mins to watching the thang:
YouTube Video
If you are able to see this message it means that you don't have flash installed or that the video server is down.

Re: New Shoes! . powdercoating help. . . ?

damn that video is pretty legit.
I've used some stuff like that before but it never works that good, especially on paint that is a couple colors/coats thick. .

side note. . wheels for sale:
FS/So.Cal/Gen1/ 18" Wheels and tires

Re: New Shoes! . powdercoating help. . . ?

I ended up going to Embee Performance Coatings in santa ana, CA

it was $60/wheel including the sandblasting to get the old pant off.
Not much cheaper than the $65 i was quoted by other places but the deal maker was the springs.

I have a set of trd drop springs with the white (what i assumed was paint) flaking off and starting to rust. Other places quoted me $65 a spring to sandblast and powdercoat them where Jeff at Embee Performance Coatings said he would do them for $10 each. saying "this is actually powdercoating, a pretty shitty job as you can tell, but yea, we can do em all for $40."

Paying $50 for all four springs i found it a little stupid to pay $65 for each one to get coated.

so if anyone else needs powdercoating on wheels or anything else,
talk to Jeff at

EMBEE PERFORMANCE
2168 South Hathaway Street
Santa Ana, California 92705
Ph: 714-546-6907
Fax: 714-546-6979
E-Mail: info@embeeperformance.com

and tell em Josh- the guy with the neon green wheels (that i'm about to go pick up: pics as soon as they're home) sent you, he'll know.

haha, i did that to a bmx bike frame. neon green is kinda my thing. .
then i sprayed a clear "glow in the dark" paint over it. it was kind of cool. . . until the clear started to turn a gross yellow and get dirty and flake.

which i will NOT be doing over these beauties.

I'm working on it, gotta try make some money back on these motegi's and figure out a tire size/spacing/offset and everything to with the TRD spring drop. . .

Question 1: Are these wheels UV (black light) responsive?

Answer: Yes, yes they are.

(this is pitch black in my garage with one single 18inch UV (blacklight) tube for illumination)

Question 2: Blacklights in the wheelwheels/underbody kit?

Answer: Maybe, help me figure it out. . .
