| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? I pasted what you had into Babel Fish and this is what I got, "Japanese the people whom you can speak will practice here. Someone understands Japanese? And about which it studies, it is probably will be?" and "Japanese anyone the け which does not understand? True hill? Properly, anyone is good!".
Doesn't make much sense though! Hope this helps! |

| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? I guess I should have written in English first.
It is translated as "Whoever speaks Japanese can practice here. Does anybody understand Japanese? Also how long have you been studying?"
Also, "Doesn't anybody understand Japanese, for real... Anybody can try and be good!"
I was trying to see if anybody wanted to practice with me. I am a 4th year college student and my major is Japanese. My wife just went back to Japan for the summer so I was trying to see if anybody wanted to study with me.
Sorry for the confusion. |

| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? I heard Japanese is very different from English, and very difficult to learn. I wouldn't mind knowing it and going on a JDM trip to Japan. |

| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? Ive tried. I can decipher some stuff, but by no means am I "good". I go to a college where we have a strong Japanese population, so I have friends that help me when I need it. |

| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? I took a year of Japanese at a University here.
I started my Japanese in Judo and Ju-Jitsu class for three years.
Then I developed some friendships with some people from Japan and decided to learn.
That's the reason I got my plate to read SCIONRA!
I have fallen off quite a bit, but recently got the Rosetta Stone to re-establish myself and continue my development.
The language itself is beautiful and it actually makes sense compared to English. lol
jya matta,

Watch out for rust falling off my brain.
You were born in Kanto. Something about Tokyo for 16 years.
And something about school and speaking?
This is how badly I need to be practicing.

| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? AttackmonkeY-san, that sounds like a great way to start learning! Japanese is definately a language that you have to "use it or lose it!" Feel free to ask any questions and use your skill! We can all help each other.

| Re: Anybody here study or know Japanese?? One major problem I have too is that I learned the very formal version in school and never learned much "slang" or informal speach, so I don't recognize casual conversation very well.
And when I would practice what I had learned with people here I always got told not to be so polite, but I knew nothing else.
