| Alberta xB'ers? I know there are a few xB's in Calgary, and that the dealership that I bought mine from had sold 8 previous to mine, so i'm just wondering if anyone on this forum is in the Alberta area. Would be cool to meet up or hang out or something. It would be pretty cool to see a bunch of boxes driving down the road. |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? If you guys make a date for a meet, I will clear anything and everything that would be in my way. I could get in touch with a few xBers in Calgary that would probably love to meet up. |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? cool. i'm kinda new, but it would be fun to try and get some people rolling. if i understand correct, its not that easy to purchase an Xb in the great white north. is it easier to get chics with your Xb because its unique?
dryko- who is the gal in the pic?

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? When it comes to picking up chicks in an xB, I can't give you any info since i've had a gf since before I bought it. BUT you do have a lot of people asking you what it is and if you like it and who makes it, etc.
To answer the question for DRYKO, it's Christina Aguilera. |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? There are a ton of xB owners in Edmonton. It would take time to track them all down, but I run into them all the time driving my Box around. I keep looking for a "Scion Owners Club" or somesuch up here, but no luck. Just random encounters while driving.
Mind you, these cars aren't common enough in Alberta to be "normal." Even though mine is a 2005, and it's now 2008, I *still* get the stares, and the pointing fingers etc.
Funny story though, goes right with the kind of peopl ethat own xBs, I guess:
I was driving along one day, and pulled up to a stop light in my box. To the left of me there was a box. To the right of me another box. The three of us sort of look at eachother, then simultainiously honk our horns in greeting, big stupid grins on our faces at the coincidental meeting of three xBs in a city they aren't even sold in. My passenger, meanwhile, facepalms, saying "oh my god, it's like a cult..."
So, Alberta xBers? You Bet! Come on up to Edmonton, we've more than a few here. We should get a few boxfolk together, drive about, and REALLY blow their cookie-cutter-car minds.
(Sorry, I can't do may long weekend guys, I am allready booked. Otherwise, I'd join you all in Calgary.) |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? EdmontonXB! I know how it goes when it comes to the scarcity of boxes in Alberta. I actually do see a few around Calgary, but amazingly they are mostly bought by the older crowd that just want something spacious and good on gas.
As far as coming to Calgary, you should sign up for Driven to Perform in Calgary and use clubxb as your club affiliation, then we can be put beside eachother! I would consider the Edmonton DTP but its expensive to sign up.
I wanna see some pics of the toaster in Alberta. |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? That's during the may long weekend, isn't it? Wish I could...I'm booked. I don't know what you qualify as "older crowd," i'm 25. I bought it because while I am only 6'3", when seated in the XB, I still have to duck my head a little. (Short legs, long trunk.) My little box was the only car I could ever fit in! (Thus, I am sad about the 2008 XBs. They no longer have enough headroom. I must take care of my box forever...it might be the last car tall enough for me.)
I'm finally getting the point where I can start thinking about putting money into modding the car. I envy all of you out there with your sweet "wild" XBs.
So other than the gig on may long weekend, any idea where Box ownered can/should get together? Maybe something in Red Deer? |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? Well, not really sure about anyone else, but I am holding a DSM club meet at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino on the 17th at 7pm. If you wanna stop by and say hi that would be awesome. And if anyone else is in Calgary, stop by too. I'd like to see more than two xBs in Calgary at once for a change. |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? Time to revive this thread for the Calgary folk. Might be stopping by Cowtown Friday August 8th in the evening before I head my way over to Medicine Hat. You Toaster heads wanna meet up with my (will be) bug infested Toaster? Meeting spot can't be too far off from my trail though... I get lost in Calgary easily ... and when you get lost in Calgary, you're lost FOREVER... or what seems like forever |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? If you're taking Deerfoot Trail out of Calgary, there are a few good places to meet up. One is the Deerfoot Inn & Casino south parking lot. Right off Deerfoot and Barlow trail south. PM me if you wanna figure something out. |

| Re: Alberta xB'ers? Cool. I'll let you know if it's a go ahead early next week.
I'd be taking Deer Foot Tr and Hwy 1 if I do go the Calgary route. I probably won't hit town until about 8'ish? |
