When I bought my '05 Scion xB, the official carfax report I received for it stated that it was a Release Series 2.0.

However, it doesn't have the solar yellow paint job or the plaque in that little alcove cut out of the dashboard on the passenger side of the car stating what number out of 2200 (or 2500, I forget) the car is. Was the carfax report wrong, or was it just possible to get a different color paint job and remove the plaque? The car had some modifications (door accents, 18" rims, some interior stuff) when I bought it, so I'm not sure if the owner just didn't want his car yellow or what XD Any ideas?

If it's not yellow, it's not an RS2.0.

do the vins match? and check both vins. one in the dash and one on the inside of the rear door (this one is a sticker and could be missing).

Thats crazy! When I bought mine..It was a salvage (still is) And the lil badge was stolen out of the car...but all the vins matched and they all said that the car is #129...and I had the RS2 paint..duh..and interrior...lol.

Start looking in spots that a repaint wouldnt touch. Check in the rear wheel wells. Check either up front or in the rear where the spare is by moving the carpet, what color is it? Check in the engine bay; although there have been some who have painted the bay to match a repaint, and see what the color is.

When these cars are painted from the factory the over spray will fall on some of the interior of the car.
