| New Member, getting xB today Hello,
I've been following this forum for the last couple of weeks, when I started getting interested in the xB.
I bought one, (Classic Silver 2010) and will pick it up this afternoon. They had to drive it from 250 miles away, none were available locally, here in Kansas City.
I look forward to continue reading here on the forum, and wanted to say thanks for the wealth of information this Community offers.
Best,
Rick |

| Re: New Member, getting xB today LONG STORY Alert,
The xB deal didn't go through afterall.
The Dealer wanted to charge me $455.00 for the Alpine Radio upgrade, and $150.00 for the car-mats because those were already installed at the other dealer that they got this unit from.
This was told to me "Over the Telephone", and I agreed to pay for those extra's.
I really didn't want the Alpine radio for $455.00 and only 200watts compared to the stock 170watt Pioneer.
When I went to pick up and pay for the vehicle today, I arrived to find another surprise.
They had used Dry Wall screws to attach a front License plate holder into the bumper, and hung a plate with the Dealer's Name on it.
In Kansas, you don't need a License Plate on the front of a Vehicle. It looked stupid with the Dealer's Vanity Plate there.
I told them if they would replace the bumper, or get me another Vehicle without a Front License Plate Holder attached, then I would talk about it.
They said they could not help me with these two holes in the bumper, but they could take out the Alpine Radio, and put in the stock Pioneer Radio, and take out the floor mats.
I said Great, but I can't live with those two holes in the front bumper -even if they plugged them up.
This was a deal breaker for me.
I waited, and waited for this vehicle, was willing to pay extra for the radio and floor mats, but would not accept two holes in my front bumper.
He told me that there were "No other Silver xB's" to be had anywhere.
I told him that if he wasn't willing to work with me on this, then the deal is off.
I thanked him, (I don't know why), and I walked.
I ended up going down the street, layed down cash money for a 2010 Honda Element EX with 4WD in Polished Metal Metallic with Titanium interior.
The Honda is sitting in my driveway as I type this.
The wife is much happier with the Honda, as we have two son's and a Weimaraner that will all fit in there comfortably.
It's funny how this day turned out, but I'm happy in the end.
Two weeks of Frustration with that Dealer, and it ended up in a whole different outcome altogether.
Thanks for the website, and all of the information offered.
It looks like I'll need to hunt down a Honda Element website at this point.
I doubt that I'll be able to find a site with so much information as this Website, with the great contributions, including DIY's, and great pictures.
The best of Luck to all. Maybe I'll be back next year when my 15 year old Son will be in the market for a vehicle.
