| Maybe new xb ownder, windshield cracking issue? How common is it? I was going to buy an xb but everyone mentions the windshield crack issue, if it does crack is there some stronger type of aftermarket replacement so it wont crack again, well within reason? I do alot of highway driving so avoiding driving behind a truck is sometimes not possible.
Sry, this is for the 1st Gen.

| Re: Maybe new xb ownder, windshield cracking issue? i had my second oem windshield replace with a aftermarket ppg one over a year ago it has two good rockchips but they have not spread so the ppg glass held up better than the last oem i had which only lasted maybe 3 weeks after being replace |

| Re: Maybe new xb ownder, windshield cracking issue? I have no clue when mine got it's chip on it, it is only at the bottom though, but I don't have any cracking going on. I guess it really just depends what the conditions are that you drive in. There was one other group I was part of and one member was on #4, and she had 2 OEM replacements and 2 aftermarket ones also. But I don't know what the status of her newest replacement is. So I would just suggest doing some research. I've always heard safelite is a great brand, but I don't know from experience though. |

| Re: Maybe new xb ownder, windshield cracking issue? i'd stay away from plinkerton (sp?) I've never had good success with those on other cars, they are quite a bit less expensive but all mine ended up leaking after a few winters... |
