Well we are officially 2008 Xb owners - but are a few days away from delivery. Gotta wait to get the Dealer Mods done - sun roof, 2 tone leather interior, billet grills, back-up sensors, Homelink/auto dim/compass rearview mirror, alloy wheels, blue interior lights etc.
Nautical Blue - and the interior will be cobalt blue and black.
We are "old hands" at the mods and at "hip to be square" thinking - please don't run us off - our "other car" is a super tricked out 2006 Tangerine Metallic Honda Element EXP
. We promise we can and do LOVE both our boxes...already have several cool mods ordered for the Xb - they may arrive before the Xb does, LOL. So we just have TWO ways to think inside the box - hers orange, his blue!
And in case anyone is keeping track - we tried, but just hated the GenI Xb - found it both underpowered and underwhelming - we had to go with the Element in 2006. But it's a new year and a NEW Xb and we LOVE the GenII - the looks, the power, the handling, the ride and the potential for cool mods. And we find the lower MPG an acceptable trade for the increased power - the GenI just wouldn't hack the DFW on-ramps with the AC on (we tried it) and it lacked difficult to add features that were a must for us. Know a lot of loyal owners are hating on the GenII, but we wouldn't have bought an Xb this week if it was still the GenI style/package. We probably would have gone with yet another "box" - the Mini Cooper Clubman.
Looking forward to our Xb projects and mods - will post some pics when "Blu" lands in our driveway. Lots of great info on this forum, made our purchase much easier.
