| Color Advice For A New Buyer Hey all, I'm planning on buying a 2010 xB in a couple of weeks when they hit the lot. I like the 1st gen xB more, design-wise, but it lacks the power, cruise control (I drive long distances often), and substance that the new xBs have.
The big question that I can't seem to answer for myself is which color do I want?
White and black are my two choices.
I really like how white has the black windows and grille as a contrasting color and they look sportier than most other colors but is only a flat color (no metallics in the paint). They also tend to look cleaner longer, resist fading, and hide scratches.
Black is just pimpin' more or less, haha. I have wanted a black car for a long time, but they look dirty quicker, can fade quicker, and show all scratches.
Can anyone who has either of these colors or know people who do, give me any insight into this subject. Help me make a decision, I only have a couple of weeks until they're here!
Black or white xB with spoiler, fog lights, grille, rear bumper applique, floor mats, premium stereo (probably), and 5-spoke wheel covers. That's my plan for now at least.
Thanks. |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer well it really comes down to the one you like better. IMO, id choose the white, simply because im not a big fan of the bsp. the black looks good from a distance, but up close the metalic flakes stand out to me, and carry a lot of different colors in them. the white just look cleaner to me. well thats just my two pennies. |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer my first choice of color when looking into getting a new xb was white only because the dirt didn't show up as much as it does with darker colors. but, the dealer only had one manual xb in the lot and it happened to be BSP so i went ahead and got it. i do love the color of the BSP but trying to keep it clean is a b*tch especially when i park it outside the house. when it comes to new xb sightings i do notice more people with BSP and maybe silver than any other color in my area. |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer i bought a white 2006 recently and like it a lot - it gets dirty but white hides it well - i also like the "freshness" of the color and you can add some contrast with some exterior accessories which are mostly dark. |

Everyone will have a personal color preference, so make your choice personal. How the car's finish ends up looking is totally up to you, be it black or white. |

I've seen maybe three I think, but they may have been the same ones. You basically confirmed my beliefs about the BSP being a pain to maintain. I'm not saying I don't maintain my cars, but I don't want to wash it every day either.
The jury is still out... |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer i try to maintain my cars, i also own a black 03 4runner. so, i know how it is to try and keep it clean and keeping a black SUV clean isn't the easiest thing to do lol. after awhile you tend to start putting cleaning your car off to the side until it gets really dirty and starts driving you nuts. which reminds me, i have to clean my babies this weekend. |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer Well I just bought an 06 BSP 2 days ago. I always go for black cars because I love contrasting the black with neon/super lime green. I just like how the green pops off of the black. Personally I just feel its harder to get colors to pop the a bright white background. Of course the down side is EVERYTHING shows up on the black except those damn lovebug bodies (guts still show). Just personal pref.

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer Man, I just got a 08 black metalic xb, I loved it bc yes...it does look pimp. But after the first time I washed it, it was 100% covered in water spots. even after I rinsed with spot free rinse. I did get them off while I was polishing but it was a pain. It also showes dirt really easy, damn...I thought white was bad. But when its all said and done...the black metalic KICKS ASS when its clean and catching the sun while your cruizen. good luck in your decion |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer Yep...I ended up not waiting for the '10 xB I wanted...it was going to be white I had decided. I ended up getting the RS 5.0 TRD tC, hence, I haven't been as active on this forum since.

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer Have you thought about getting a Release Series? There are still a few out there to be bought. All 2009's. They only come in red and have the Pioneer Nav/DVD system installed. You will need to wait a few days for it (I had to wait three days for mine), but it might be worth it. The difference in price (at least for me) was a mere $1,000 between the RS and the Standard.
Just a thought. |

Just a thought. | OMG! A $1000 difference? That's definitely worth it. When I was looking at xBs, the local dealership had like 4 RS6.0s and they were all Autos (weaksauce). I'm looking to get that pioneer head unit for my RS5.0 tC. That grille is amazing too and I hope that someone out there will make an aftermarket one like it for all models... |

| Re: Color Advice For A New Buyer Yeah, if you want a manual transmission there are definitely some manual RS 6.0's out there. If you find a good Scion sales manager, they'll order the model you want.
Good luck. Be sure to let us know what you do. |
