| Re: how do you change rear wiper blade? You can't without spending big bucks at the dealer. Just shave it off and be done with it. Rear wipers scratch the glass too much and they vibrate when the bass hits.
Rain X the window instead. |

| Re: how do you change rear wiper blade? ok so i used the search function and found this thread.
is there really no way to replace the rear wiper blade yourself? i've seen members here just remove the entire assembly, but personally, i like the rear wiper and mine is getting kinda old.
the main reason i'm asking is because i'm having some problems finding any replacement blades online. any help would be great. thanks. |

| Re: how do you change rear wiper blade? It's list $3.45 for a replacement at the dealer. (Lake City Scion/Toyota)
Pop the wiper back towards you so you have a good view of everything. I then start at the left side the curl the rubber up so it pops out. On the right side of the blade is where it locks into place, just shove towards the right gently and wiggle it should pop out.
Now you will need to two metal parts that are inside the blade to put in the replacement. then just insert at right, slide through to the left and push until it locks.
I remember this only because I just did it two days ago.

| Re: how do you change rear wiper blade? I usually get plugs from hardware stores. Lowes had the best selection last time I went looking. They usually come in white or black, just paint to match. |

| Re: how do you change rear wiper blade? I want to remove the rear wiper. I read above to get the plugs from hpme depot or something but what size are they? Do I have to remove the wiper motor?
I broke one of the clips on the wiper the other day swapping out the blade now I have an excuse to get rid of it! |

| Rear wiper blade on 2008+ Xb's CAN be replaced There is an alternative to going to the dealer for a replacement rear blade on the 2008+ Scion Xb's. It may first appear that the blade and arm are one piece but if you take a look, you'll see the wiper blade can be replaced and its actually quite simple. There may be other alternatives, but the 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Blade' at wipers123 online snaps right onto the special rear arm and looks like the factory original. Much cheaper than the dealer alternative. Comes with removal and replacement instructions too. Hope this helps. |
