Re: Cleaning Brake Dust

Pressure washer, soap, brake cleaner or acid- all depends on the finish of your wheels because some things can damage them. Compressed air can help too, just don't inhale

I use 'Perfect Detailer' on the whole car. Never even wax it any more......

Re: Cleaning Brake Dust

I apologize for the partial thread hijack, but all of the other exterior cleaning threads have been closed.

Does anyone have recommendations on what to use to remove lock lubrication stains from right under the door handles? I bought a 2010 white xB in August, and there are 5 inch streaks coming down from the door handles which I can only assume are lubrication.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Does the pressure washer not cause paint to chip? We have one but I never use it on any vehicle because I always heard its a big no no...

Re: Cleaning Brake Dust

Get slotted rotors. Way less dust produced with 'em.

Re: Cleaning Brake Dust

I use Meguairs Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. Just spray it on let it soak for about 10-15 sec then use a medium stiffness brush. Worked all the time when I had 17" factory chrome rims on my cobalt.

Re: Cleaning Brake Dust

It is better to wipe them down every couple of days. If you stay on the wheels you can use windex and paper towels. Once they get out of hand you need the heavy duty wheel acid etc.
