| Best Bug Removal? Hey guys,
I live in FL and well, Love Bugs are an xB's arch-nemesis..
What's the best "Bug Off" cleaner? I tried the new Rain-X spray on gell stuff and it didn't work that great. Just wondering if you guys have a preferred brand, etc.. Thanks! |

I would like to know how to get those pesky little rock chips off though. |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? Tar&Bug (Bug&Tar) remover works wonders. Don't leave it on the paint too long though. lol.
I've also used general adhesive remover on them, sometimes works better than the TnB stuff. The Stuff by 3M that's claimed as paint safe. I still wouldn't leave it sit on the paint. Just a dab in the microfiber cloth. |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? I use Fabric Softner cloths just wet them a start cleaning. It does not take the wax off but it does a great job on the bugs. |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? For Love bugs I wash, just the front, daily after my 100 mile commute. It's become my daily routine, right after the drive.
Use a good car wash soap and a bug sponge. If I let them sit for more than 2 days, I really have to scrub those guts off. Also a good wax on the weekends helps them come off easier! "Nanowax"seems to work pretty good! As you know, the fish smell is horrid of those twice a year bugs!
I seen more paint jobs ruined by these damn bugs! |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? What I do is while I'm washing my car, I give the front end a good chance to soak, after that I just go over the bugs one by one with a microfiber towel with a good amount of moisture in it. I've used Stoner's Tarminator before, and its good, but its far from a "spray on, hose off" type of deal. I mainly use it now for stubborn bugs (spray on MF and hold MF over the area) or tar on the lower portion of the car. I've also had good luck with a 50:50 mix of H20 and IPA (IsoPropyl Alochol), but that like any bug and tar remover, will strip any protection you have on the front, so you have to glaze and seal or wax after.
If the bugs don't want to come off with a MF and water, I break out a mild claybar (Meg's white) and clay the front and reseal it with some Meg's NXT2. |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? heh you should see the mosquito's that i hit in louisiana ...
about the only way to keep em cleaned off .. is don't let them dry on there ...
i end up hitting the touchless carwash about 3 to 4 times a week, depending on how thick the bugs are ... |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? Love bug season is the WORST! Doesn't it seem like if there's a love bug on the road your box seems to find it? Urrgh. I used to think it was a fib when they said if I don't wash them off it'll ruin the paint, but it's true my friend. Luckily I don't like my stock paint color so I just let it ruin, but I'm gonna have to hire some homeless man to clean my car daily once I get my junk painted. Sheesh. |

| Re: Best Bug Removal? Get two buckets of clean water. Dip a cotton cloth in one and wipe the bugs as best you can. Clean it in the first bucket, then dip it in the second and repeat. This keeps you from getting abrasives on the rag and scratching the finish. |
