| Re: saftey or tempered Windshield is still tempered glass but it has laminated layers in it to prevent shattering from the smallest crack. The CAD drawings of the front windshield has three to 5 different thicknesses and materials in it.
The side doors you do not even have to really cut the glass, just do not roll the windows all the way up as long as you do not change the line of the front door at the A-Pillar. You could also save money by removing the quarter glass (or changing the shape) and redoing the hatch glass to be an old school Oval shape, ambulance doors with two window or no window at all. That would mean only one window to need to cut. |

| Re: saftey or tempered the hatch will be changed as you said, ambulance doors with oval. i was thinking of panel wagon with.......opening rear doors, cause everyone else has welded the shut. eliminating all windows cept the front "custom made" and the front door.
i got a feeling to keep the shape of the A pillars, ill have to shorten the roof, thats ok though, part of the project.
if i do this, i think ill start in a few weeks.
oh, and thanks for the advice ogerdgonz!!!

| Re: saftey or tempered My statement was the front windshield of a car in general not ours only. Also the rear glass could be modified to go down if you chopped the top because you would be making the glass smaller than the metal part of the hatch. Currently the hatch glass is larger than the metal part of the hatch. |
