Question Question with the side view mirrors?

Alright i just re covered my door panels on my Bcp xb with a grey and red plaid material that i found.

As well as covering those I was toying with the idea of covering the side view mirrors with the same material so it would tie the exterior with the interior.

Has anyone ever seen this done or have any ideas about how to do that?

I would of course cover them with a couple layers of clear coat so hopefully that would keep it on there and dry.

Is there also a way to pop out the mirror from the side view housing so i could glue it down in there?

Re: Question with the side view mirrors?

I would paint the mirrors first. Taping for a plaid pattern would not be too difficult.......time consuming maybe, but not as much a fabric wrap. Also, making a compound curve with cloth, sounds like a real challenge. Best of luck! and would be original!

I think it wouldn't be a good idea because the cloth would not hold up well. depending on how complicated the pattern is though paint should not be TOO hard.

or maybe even a Vinyl wrap

Re: Question with the side view mirrors?

corin, have it vynal wrapped instead. it maybe easier to take care of it and wont do permanent damage.

if not, you can try to wrap the fabric and hold it in place using a door edge molding around the edge of the mirror.

btw, its argyle not plaid.
