| Re: Whats your MPG? After changing from 19's to 16's. Changing the oil, cleaning the filter and changing the plugs, I got 31.35.
That is probably my best tank ever. I have always had 18's on the car. Drove it off the lot with them as part of the deal. |

Continously on average I get about 33 city and 38 highway. Highest ever was 40mpg. Although I will say I don't drive like most people. Odds are you will pass me everywhere except a red light. I time all the lights so I don't have to stop. I never get into the gas on acceleration, and whenever possible I try to keep the engine below 2000 rpms which in my Gen1 is about 40-45mph.
I live in a rural area downstate from Chicago, Il, so slower speeds are more common than city driving. However my highest ratings were in Chicago and Chicagoland : 33mpg on the north side of the city and 40mpg in the western suburbs. For this trip I ran my ac and had a power inverter running my computer.
I think driving habits are the key. I always remeber the old saying "how fast can you afford to drive?" I like driving fast but I can't afford it, otherwise I would have bought a Dodge Charger.

well, i have broken my mpg record. i got 38mpg while going to Sacramento. i went 365.8 miles and filled up 9.633 gallons. that comes up 37.97. rounded that off then i got 38 mpg. |

| Re: Whats your MPG? I calculated mine today, from full to 1/2 tank i did exactly 180.0 miles with 6.875 gallons.
That gives me 26.181818 MPG. How are you getting high 30's or even past 30MPG?
Granted, i did a lot of city driving this week and it was extremely hot in Miami, so had to blast the AC. |

| Re: Whats your MPG? I just drove to the beach and back -- highway and traffic -- in my 06. I got 34 when I filled it at the shore, after running 29 in with the previous tank in town. It's been hot, so the A/C's been on. When it gets cooler in town, the mileage goes up in the low 30's.
I've been meaning to take the box out with a friend with GPS and set the Scanguage so it reads the speed correctly. Some folks adjust 3 percent or so for the U.S. tire size.
The best mileage I ever got was about 37 driving SAG support for a bicycle club century. Spent the day cruising at about 30 to 40 mph in 4th gear.
Cheers,
M |

| Re: Whats your MPG? Woohoo! My first victory! I FINALLY broke the EPA, not by much but I did it with basic cheap mods and just adjusting my driving style a bit.
When i first got my Box it was doing 26.18 then i changed the plugs and the airfilter and it bumped it to 28.55 and today when i did the new reading after just adding a can of STP engine cleaner, i clocked at 31.16! (I know, its not HUGE but i'm happy to break 30MPG which is what i wanted). |

I have larger wheels, 17x7 with 215/40s on them. I noticed the mileage went down a bit after the wheel upgrade, but I thinks thats due to more accurate odo readings combined with wheel revolutions.
If your looking for better mileage, buy a K&N drop in. It should increase your MPG by 30 miles per tank if your driving habits remain the same. |
