| the intake setup into the grill only benefits if you have an open grill.
and i dislike the trd intake as well . too much , too many bends , over the transmission , and blah , lol. not hating just stating.
both the aem "L" pipe and the injen have the best dyno results.
mine has the filter close to the same place as the trd/aem snake pipe but it hs only one bend and sits a few inches higher than the trd one does. |

| what chopped please explain did you get it really wet or do you have one of early versions that put valve train vent in before sensor thus killing many sensors cus mine enters after all sensors by throttle body avoiding coating sensors |

| yeah other than k&N only other filter i'd use on most cars would be apexi. uni's are decent. a lot better on a bike where i'm not as worried about service life. |

| The long intake plumbing is a waste. The longer the plumbing, the more friction there is. The more friction there is, the more heat. So, you basically defeated the purpose of having the filter located in a position where the air temperature is cooler. Another thing to consider is air pressure and density. Is the filter located in a low pressure region? As far as the intake not working well unless their is an open grill, I can prove it on the dyno. The slots on the stock grill are cut out so there is plenty of pressurized air. We make our own filters with velocity stacks inside the filter so it will be hard finding one that is going to outflow what we use already. Apexi does make a very nice filter though. |

| Hehe, although there is a BIG difference between modern EFI and old school muscle cars. Muscles cars of the past have horrific volumetric efficiency, hence why they went with the whole "bigger is better" type of thing. We now make more power than ever with tiny motors....yada yada, I know what you mean though. |
