My Weapon R had it, but when I went to take it out the mounting bolt w/ the rubber on it had broken anyway. But yeah, I think most do have one.

I think the spacer will put out more power than any intake anyway.

I took off my Injen Style intake and put my stock one on the other day, and guess what. The stock air box seems to give more power. But I was only using half the intake (half with the sensor mount) the filter was sitting right above the tranny.

looks like an inch thick, you can work that out, fab new bracket, trim rubber elbow, whatever is necessary. as long as it gives you gain.
how's the mpg with this?

Easy to redrill or grind the slot wider. I usually have to McGuiver my mods until they fit anyways.

Smile high everyone

i installed mine no problem @ 15min hand tools including figuring what to do for extra space needed
i have dealer trd cia w/ hydrolock-bybass valve
ill try to take pics of what i did and put on this thread
i just loosened the clamp on top of hydolock then twisted it counter clokwise to create the @ 1 1/4 to1 1/2 needed to in stall tbs this changed the angle of pipe holding map but not up and down on the level just away from throttle body mounts
the hydrolock sits up and down in orientation so the bottom part was not moved.
the top pivoted away. i think that w/ short ram it would be easy too you need so little extra room

sid ill let ya know about mpg when i can restrain my foot from pushing the pedal to much
afterall ive only had it two days cant a guy play w/ new toys

right above the transmission is a horrible spot for an air filter to draw air from.

Yeah I know, Was my only choice. My fogs take up that whole section behind the bumper. I might cut the pipe so the it sits up next to the battery.

I have an injen.
Do you think the TB spacer will work or will I have to go back to my stock box? I already ordered it!
I probably shoulda asked this question before haha.

What this does it speeds of the air velocity of the intake charge. Is it enough to give you power you can "feel"? Maybe, maybe not. But for the price it certainly wouldnt hurt to try. Results are different from car to car and engine to engine. The increase velocity help your engines VE, or volumetric efficiency, giving you an increase in power.

Thumbs up trd intake install

ok here is what i did to make it fit pretty simple for this intake
spacer is @13/16ths wide

unconnect battery per instruction sheet

first i unconected the clamp on top of bypass valve

then i removed the elbow at throttle body

then unhooked the sensor wires to that pipe section

now move the pipe section out of way then remove TB, 1 bolt 2 nuts and 2 studs (iused small needelnose visegrips to lock onto shank of stud then it came loose easy no damage to threads) wipe clean all mating surfaces w/ carb cleaner or equivalent on rag. (mine was pretty clean only 5800 miles so far) the put TB and TBS together and secure w/new bolts supplied. be sure to read instructions torque is INCH lbs not ft lbs lets not destroy intake plenum
the bypass is the pivot point to gain the space for install. moving pipe towards battery did not cause any rubbing issues at all. now reinstall piping, wires, rehook up battery and complete it by doing the iddle relearn outlined in instructions. wala done

I tried a similar intake set up...filter location wise as you and I can tell you that youre probably getting less horsepower with your current intake set up than a stock intake box. That area is a low pressure zone and there is not much air getting there at all. You are getting radiant heat from the exhaust manifold there also. Also, you really dont need that bypass valve given where your intake filter is located. You really have to soak and submerge the filter for that bypass to work. By the time your filter is covered in water, so is your car...so I would take out that extra restriction which will not only restrict air flow, but increast intake temperatures from the friction it causes.

Please dont take it the wrong way. Im not trying to flame your mods, etc. Hopefully my past mistakes and experience can help anyone that is here on the forums.
