| False floor went in last night compliments of Brandhoff1234. Looks really nice and finally cleans up the empty rear of the gutted car. Now I have to build a removable sub/amp box to fit in there and the interior behind the front seats will be done for now. I can finally start fabbbing my new center console... |

| UPDATE!!!
OK, some quick pics of today's work just to prove I actually accomplished something.... ....Oh yeah, I also removed the washer bottle mostly because it was in the way of my install but also because it adds about 8 lbs when full. F cleaning your windows the lazy way.
Here is the fix I fabbed up for my new intake. It still needs some show quality finish work but at least the fab work is done and my car doesnt stall out anymore....
And here is the new power mod. Hey B-Rad, you still think Im not catchin you??? HAHAHAHHAHA |

| ^^^ It was stalling out because the Perrin intake system is not intended to be run with an open upper grill. When I was running an open upper grill at higher speeds the intake was getting too much air and the ECU couldnt handle it. When the ECU freaks out the car stalls. Now I fabbed that air diversion panel and its all running excellent even with the open grill! |

| Nice project. I wish I was able to do that to my wifes xB. What about your seats themselfs? Have you considered going light weight racing seats for both front seats? That will be a huge savings! I also saw some nice carbon fiber fenders, you might also consider them for weight savings.
Good luck and keep us posted with stories and pictures! |

I have a manual tranny and I have a tendency to ride the clutch. When the car was at a speed over 45mph and I held the clutch in basically the ECU wouldnt catch the engine RPMs at idle. It would just stall out because of too much air for idle RPMs. Driving it wasnt an issue at all...
I already have light racing seats installed in the front. Good idea though. I am entertaining getting some carbon fenders. I think a carbon hood and hatch will come first though... |

| getting too much air at idle? that is really wierd, but i'm glad you fixed it.
I was planning in fabbing my own intake out of an oval k&n(mostly used on cruiser bike), but I guess its a bad idea, or hope it won't have that effect.
I like how foose design his filter. |

Anyway, got some new performance rims and tires on the project. 16" Rota Sub-Zeros with Khumo Ecsta Supras in 205-45-16 up front and 225-40-16 in the back. Definately an improvement in handling and drive "feel"...
I also added a false floor in the back to cover some of the exposed sheet metal which you can see in one of the pics kinda. For some reason I dont have a straight pic into the back... |

perruzi-love the progress you've got so far. do you have any number yet? like weight lost or 1/4 mile times. if not take your time. don't mean to bug you. |

| not sure if you did it already (since I just briefly skimmed through the thread pages) but you might want to consider a new battery. definitely will shave off some weight and possibly even better weight distribution (depending on where it's placed). we use kinetik batteries in our race cars, as well as street cars with great results. their light weight and still crank out more then a stock'er. ( http://www.kinetikaudio.com/default.asp) but of course there are other batteries on the market that can perform just as good. main thing is getting rid of that gigantic heap.
you might also want to consider getting the car corner-balanced if you're running coilovers. something often overlooked. |
