I took out the clock spring on the steering wheel hub yesterday. Now my VSC and Trac don't work. I also have to manually switch off the turn signals now instead of them going off automatically when you turn the wheel. A minor inconvenience to deal with considering the amount of money I got from the part...
Steering wheel, hub adapter, quick release, and roll-cage should be in sometime next week. I can't wait to install those parts! |

Having made the decision to not care about shows anymore I'm now gutting every bit of weight I can get out of the xB and moving towards every performance mod available. So this is the beginning of a long journey to come over the winter months. I started the project last night and removed a laundry list of overweight items from the interior...
front passenger seat
rear bench seat
rear bench seat support bar
both interior carpets
all plastic covers from base of both seats
center floor console
spare tire
spare tire floor support
rear foam cubbies
rear floor cargo covers
rear seatbelts
huge trunk setup with 2 12" alpine subs -- (soon to be for sale in the PPC...)
That list is just the beginning and basically what I could take out of the car at the floor level. Some things to come out soon are airbags, upper dash piece, door panels, windshield washer bottle, and vairous other things that are no longer needed on the car. I plan to rebuild the interior fully customized with brushed aluminum and carbon fiber. Basically I just killed all my free time this winter. It's cool, I never like to be bored...
I will post pics of the work I did last night when I go home for lunch. I didn't have time to upload them last night. I will also be weighing every piece I take out just to see how much can really be removed... | Building a car to win some $20 trophy is rediculous, you spend thousands of dollars and thats all you get in return. Its not rocket science here. You should be building the car to make yourself happy. |

If you still want it then let me know. I would be willing to let it go probably. What rear floor panels are you talking about? if youre talking about any of the styrofoam cubbies or the carpeted pieces that go over them I dont have them. I havent had them in forever and to be honest I dont remember where they went... |

| I used some gloss black paint actually. So its pretty shiny. It could definately use some touchups. Im not sure I would actually feel comfortable selling it. Its not in the best condition and without you being able to see it first hand I just dont feel right... |

| why would you remove the relatively lightweight airbags to make your car illegal on a federal level?
weight removal versus a street vcar , hmm. yeah kinda no point these things are too slow to sacrifice their only main purpose being good , comfy transportation.
but hey whatever works man.
just seems like you are rally going to an extreme here and that in the end you'll still be unhappy but it'll just be in a uncomfortable , resonating , vibrating , non creature comfort mobile. |

| you must be ric to be able to take a new 15+k car and rape it and make it pretty much unfeasible to use. if u want a track car there's much better , cheaper , faster cars available. |
