| new xb owner with an issue Hi
Yesterday I got my new used 06 xb, very nice. I took it home with no troubles but later that day when my wife went to drive it the BLUE temp. light was on. This car does not have an owners manual so I don't know exactly what the BLUE temp means. Can anyone help?
Thanks and may God bless,
Kim |

| Re: new xb owner with an issue the blue light is standard in the xbs it just lets you know that the engine is cold if it turns red it means that the temp is hot since the xb doesnt have a temp guage and only the idiot lights as i would call them
also once the blue light turns off it means the engine is warmed up

| Re: new xb owner with an issue If you're one that likes to see gauges or likes to know whats going on with your ride, buy a scan gauge 2, it hooks up easily to the OBDII port found under the dash on the drivers side. I have one and love it, there are a few of the members that have them. ScanGaugeII - Scan Tool + Digital Gauges + Trip Computers |

| Re: new xb owner with an issue Yep, the blue engine light should go off at 140 degrees once the engine has warmed up. If your new/used xB is an automatic, you will notice that the transmission may feel stiff if you drive before the engine warms up all the way. Once warm, it will be noticeably better. Enjoy your new toy! |

However, what is the deal with the flashing Maint Required light? I am assuming that means to change the oil, but it only flashes for a few seconds and then remains off. |

| Re: new xb owner with an issue at intial start up, cel light will flash normally then it will remain off.
the cel light will remain on when engine needs maintenance. i.e. oil change.
sometimes it will read when there is a malfunction in the system such as but not always, aftermarket intake, etc. |

| Re: new xb owner with an issue welcome Kim! like everyone else said, youll be just fine.
All this time i thought it was "water mode" like, i could drive in water. . .
but every time i tried to get to a river/lake/ocean etc, the light turned off before i got there, so i didnt drive in the water. kinda glad about that now. . . |

| Re: new xb owner with an issue Hay again
I did not get an owners manual with the xb so I was thinking where to get one. E bay had 2 of them one for $130 and one for $100, nuts. Amazon.com had one for $150. I tried some junk yards with no luck. As a last resort figuring they would be way costly I called the dealer. $15 plus $7.50 s & h, I could not beleive it.

| Blue engine temp light on or off before driving Sup everyone,
Do you guys wait till the blue temperature light goes off before driving? I checked toyotanation and they say its bad to idle even though the blue light is still on so they suggest just to drive it without going over 3k. Any thoughts? |

| Re: Blue engine temp light on or off before driving Yeah, drive it easy til the light goes off. Sitting and idling is bad for catalytic converter. |

Owners Manual says not to sit and wait but to drive easy til the light goes off (which happens at 139F). |
