I just cut the CAI that came on the car and bought an AEM filter. Its a tight fit using the stock rubber hose, but it will fit.

Re: N E 1 running an AFE intake

I did the same thing and shorten my Fujita CAI. Check out this thread. But I noticed that the Intake Air Temp registering in my ScanGauge was high. I was noticing about 10-12 degrees hotter than the outside temp when cruising. When idling, it can go up to about 30-40 degrees more than the outside temp. I'm not really sure if there is any harm done if the intake air is too hot but I changed to a Fujita SRI.

warmer air leads to better fuel efficiency so you shouldn't worry. Colder air = denser air; denser means more fuel can be burned which means more hp and less efficiency or lower mpg.

Yep I know all about this living in OH and all. I have a bombz CAI with a APC filter and to remove it you have to lay on your back and crawl under the bumper to remove it. That is a pain, but it helps I only do it while I have the car jacked up while I am changing my oil.
