his header was leaking causing a lean condition ( BAD )

and apparently there was excessive oil pump clearance meaning not enough oil pressure.

URGENT question

I am now hearing a sound occasionally from my motor.....it appears to come from by the drivers feet which is where the hole is in the chocolate rocket.

Here is the question.......Was the sound an occasional sound that was a tapping sound sort of like when you were a kid and put the baseball card in your bike spokes? Not that harsh sounding but it is like a valve tapping. or something rotating occasionally contacting something it should not. I am running a stock motor only change is TRD exhaust.

Any info helpful.

yeah that's scary. I have no mods on my engine at all. I'll be doing more research before I do.

Ahhh.. Ic....
Well I am hoping I will not run into engine problems with this car.. I plan on keeping my engine relatively stock, Only thing I have really done is change out the Radiator Cap to the TRD and I have a TRD Exhaust..

everything else is stock...
Maybe I should install a Oil pressure gauge and take out my Vac gauge.

oil temp and oil pressure gauges are always very good indicators of an engine's overall condition

Yea, How would you install the Oil Pressure gauge?? where would I tap it into.. I would be looking into getting a electrical Oil Pressure gauge...
Oil Temp.. Is that really needed??

oil temp is a very good indicator. it's a better judgement than water temp imo. it's a vital thing.

for oil pressure you would have to buy the pressure solenoid. hooks into the same spot the dummy oil press indicator does then you would run the wire to the gauge inside.

Cool, Thanks.. I ordered the Oil pressure gauge tonight....
Still debating on the oil temp gauge. I have the water temp gauge and volt.. so I am thinking if I should remove the volt gauge and install the oil temp...

I only have a 3 gauge pillar.. so if I get the oil temp I have to lose one of my other ones..

That's one thing I hate about new cars as they don't have enough gauges in the cluster. Even the wifes tC drives me insane as I don't know what the car is doing. xB, same thing. My 93 Daytona has more gauges stock and I can always pick up what's wrong with the car when a needle isn't where it's supposed to be. SO, I don't even check the cluster for anything anymore. Don't need to. I should get gauges too.

usually when you have an exhaust leak the o2 sensors read a lean condition, causing the pcm to richen the mix. actually causing a rich condition in the engine.
