I can't believe they could tow you behind the truck. I figured it would be flatbed all the way!

ima gonna have to let off of mine too. i tend to take litterally to the limit. dropping it down to 4th going 90 with 6k and double clutching it and shifting back up to 5th then taking it up to 125.
thats it, no mo after i seen that nasty pic on the chocolate rocket.
i promise i'll be good to my baby.

I suspect Toyota might want to take a look at that block so they can see what failed.

Not only did your heart probably sink when it broke like that, but you were probably worried as Hell that it would cost you a bunch. Glad to see they stepped right up and are taking care of you.

Hope you get the rocket back real soon.

any weird noise from the car/engine prior to that incident? I have noticed a loud clang from time to time when I satrt the car. I can't seem to find what it is. Like something hiiting the exhaust heat shield or something. You can tap the brake rotor back piece and creat the same noise, but there is nothing going on there either.

I would assume they are going to check for something that might have contributed to a lean running condition. Leak on exhaust manifold of that cylinder, maybe?

the exhaust note changed a bit about 2 weeks prior. sounded more agressive at idle. i didnt think anything of it. then the night before it happened the exhaust was unusually loud and droney. even at 70mph when its usually quiet. it was pissing me off and i was actually cursing at it and had to turn my radio WAY up to drown it out. even then i could still hear it. the morning it happened i noticed it didnt have near the power it usually does then about a mile later it let go.

jim i dont know what your starting noise could be... i never heard that on my car. all i heard was a fast flat tire sounding "fwump-fwump-fwump-fwump..." and the check engine light came on.

i think if anything the car ran rich. i ALWAYS had soot/carbon deposites on the muffler and rear lip near the exhaust. i guess they will let me know what they find.

This kinda frightens me. I have an I/P/E setup (sorry no header yet) though I don't have any indications of anything like this happening, please keep us posted on what the findings are, I don't run mine TOO hard, but in order to keep up with the hoosiers in their 6 foot lifted trucks in my area I do have to rev high to keep from getting flattened.....

I had that on my civic, when i blew my piston rings, my exhaust got lauder and lauder till i herd a loud bang, it turns out that i had been driving around with no compression out of one piston for about 3 weeks till it just blew. no cracks on the block though, but sorry for the lose. you'll be back taking it real slow in no time lol .
