i read in one of the threads that someone was getting almost 300miles on a tank with 18in wheels.
i am lucky if i get 250 (that is with a 9 gallon fill up. i can never get 10 gallons in).
my scion has nothing mod, so what can i do to increase mpg?

and what is everyone else getting?

well, i am 100% stock right now as i have not bit the bullit yet...but with the good year eagle LS type tires on my car and filling it up with 93 octaine, i am hitting just about 300 miles or so...i do alot of highway driving int he car, so im almost always at 80 mph...if you want to keep your gas mileage up, DONT go to larger rims...keep them at 15 is what im seeing works for alot of people...and dont be cheap about the tires...get at least tires that will last 60k at the minimum...the tire design and wear factor is what helps out the mileage...u can go to different rims, but make sure they weigh less then stock steelies and it should increase a bit more...but yea, im hitting 300 miles to the tank with no problems...

i have a short ram intake and 195/60/15s on my car. i'm getting 31mpg in mixed driving.

i have 18" wheels and im getting 300 to a tank, then i added royal purple and boush +4 plugs and still about 300 to a tank. but i do live in ca and i use the hills to roll down and get some free miles

Ive got 18" wheels, sub woofer box, and im no liteweight myself and I havent seen much better than the 225-250 range. As a matter of fact, when my xb was new and stock I still never saw the 300 mark or the posted mpg ratings out of a tank of gas. I still love it tho, I didnt buy it for the mileage factor, I bought it because is was an xb .

I get around 26-28mpg. Usually around 240-270 a tank

I have automatic trans, header, blitz sc, cold air intake, dual exhaust, heavy foot.

could get better, but find myself hot rodding alot with the sc'er.

i avg around 270 to 280 a tank im on 18's only thing i have done as far as mods is take off the snorkel off the intake box

i average 280 when the gas light come on, can probably squeeze a lil more mile but scare i might run outta gas. im rolling on trd 18s with cooper tires, and an injen intake short ram btw. if u keep it around 55-65 on highway, and dont drive with a heavy foot around city, 300+ miles per tank is do-able.

I get about 280 miles per tank, all stock except SRI. Running Michelin harmony tires. Very light foot

when mine was bone stock i could pull out 340 to 375 but now with all the stuff on around 290 300

How big is your tank?
I get on average about 500KM from a tank of gas ( roughly 300Miles)
40L tank (11Gal)

its a stock 04 gas tank holds 12 gallons and ive found out u can run about 90 miles at an easy pace when your gas light comes on

I usually fill up when the light starts flashing.... must try that someday.

I usually am filling up at about 300 miles and dump in about 9.5 gallons of 87 octane. No mods or heavy stereo equipment. Mostly in town driving with me and my daughter. Our combined weight is about 235lbs.

yea man just go under 2500 rpm and on a stock well maintanced xb u can get it just member when u get that low fill it all the way up and subtract that from 12 and that will tell u how much gas u had left in the tank.

I have 17" wheels - SRI and magnaflow exhaust. I get between 35-37 MPG if I am on the freeway and 23-26 city driving. I just took a roadtrip to see my sister in Oregon (from Bay Area, CA) for Thanksgiving. I got 37 MPG driving 70 the whole way!

i've got a 06 stocker and we get about 300-315 between refills... usually I am pullin from 28-30 mpg with rural commuting and some freeway, average freeway speeds of bout 80 which is probably what sucks me down those tanks that I keep a light foot... do the cold air intakes improve anyones mileage .. any experience

who knows how long you have once the low fuel light comes on? im assuming its in the manual, but when i bought my '05 (2 weeks ago) i noticed i had no manual... just curious..

will an intake improve MPG at all?

Gas light comes on with 2 gallons left, I get 250-275 avg. I don't put around though, even when I have tried putting around my best was 28.5mpg.
