I heard from someone that you have to drop the motor to install the header, is this true?? I didnt think our engine was big enough that we had to pull it out haha Anyone know anything about this?

Re: How do you install Headers??

it is a close fit but there is no need to drop the motor thats for sure. i would just suggest getting liquid wrench to ease up the header bolts and the 2 spring bolts where it meets the cat.

NO you don't need to drop the motor. It's much easier if you have a lift though.

^^^agreed.

i found with bolts that wont turn, is if you use a torch to heat it up. just stick it on for about 30 sec. - a min. then give it a tun, this usually work every time.

Re: How do you install Headers??

use an impact on the cat bolts. I recently looked up the labor time in a reynolds book and the labor to change an exhaust manifold was about 1 hour.

Re: How do you install Headers??

Please explain how a bigger tubed header will help a NON turbo/supercharged 1.5L make enough difference to warrant the cost? The stock header has a very nice design and looks like it flows quite nicely.
IMHO, pass on a header for a natural aspirated xB. You won't get enough bang for the buck. Get an axle back exhaust and shortram intake and enjoy.
