| I myself have made it a point to drive a bit slower to see if I can better the 28 mpg I'm currently getting! I'll advise once I go through my tank of gas. |

| idk how much more premium gas is than regualr in your area, but i found that in good conditions, you can get enough better gas mileage to make up or exceed the initial cost of the more expensive gas. It also really wakes up the car a bit. Give it a try |

| I haven't put gas in my box ever!
Then of course, I just bought it new 2 days ago!
Only has 105 miles on it. Maybe at some point it may need gas? |

| Yeah, I think that something is a little fishy. When I first got my xB back in the summer I was getting about 33/34 miles per gallon and recently it has been getting about 29 at best. The funny thing is that I was driving a lot harder back in the summer (about 85 MPH on the highway). It has about 20K on it now. I'm thinking about changing the plugs in it sometime in the very near future so I'll let you all know how that goes (maybe they put really crappy plugs in at the factory that burn out quickly with hard driving). Another note: I also have a Nissan Spec-V and haven't really noticed much of a difference in fuel economy in the past few months, so I really doubt that it is the lower octane fuel that they pass off on us in winter months that is causing this difference. |

| i could not believe that i didnt post in here yet.
my best mpg would be 38.2mpg (103.3miles/2.704gallons). then tonight after i filled up, i got 32mpg (266miles/8.3gallons). i was driving mostly on freeway and the speed was around 70-85mph.
strange thing is that i got average of 28mpg couple weeks ago and i was driving slow. |

| I just filled up for the second time this weekend, which allowed me to figure the mileage--30.57 mpg. I'm loving it! This is a lot better than my last truck. |

| I get 330.00 miles on a tank - with cold air intake, headers, and exhaust.
Keep the RPM's at 3000 to 3500. |

| Yah - @ 80 - 85 all stock your RPM's are above 4000 - I did that too the first tank of gas I put in it - Its hard to keep the Revs down especially for me with the Intake, headers, and exhaust but leaving a few minutes earlier and cruising at 65 - 70 mph really does the trick.
I went from 280 miles from the full tank to 330 miles- and that was before the modifications I made. Im hoping to get closer to 40mpg now that the air is flowing with less restriction. I'll keep you posted |

| hmmm - well laying off the throttle helps a lot and also having a tune up done could improve that as well.Did you recently put big rims on ? going from a 14" rim to a 17" inch rim with a 40 series tire will drop your mielage about 40 miles per tank. |

Yeah but good thing you mentioned that you are on 17's because the circumference of the rim will make a substantial difference in MPH, and MPG. If you just think about physics it will make sense. That's another reason why I didn't want to stretch 195/50's on my 15's. I have noticed about 2~3% difference in MPH. Same thing happens when you put on BIGGER rims you will get a screwy reading on tachometer and odometer. |

| Not necessarily. If you properly "plus size" your wheels you will see no difference in your speedometer, or tachometer. It is all in proper sizing.
And you can actually reduce weight and rolling resistance by buying the right "plus size" wheels. This usually requires buying lightweight forged one piece or multi-piece wheels and high quality tires. You can get even more weight savings with this type of wheel in the factory size, but you do not gain as much handling benefit as you can get from the lower profile tire of a "plus size" combination. |
