2nd question, does the cold air intake cause a noticeable difference in Performance ? and final question should I stay away from any of the ones on ebay ?..........Thanks for any help please no flaming guys | It depends on what you expect out of the mods. The cold air intake doesnt do jack...well if you want 1-2whp. IMO, its not worth it. All I am using is the stock intake minus the outside box and with my Greddy kit Im making 141whp. |

| If anyone is local and you want an intake that works, come on by and I'll show you what you can do...free of charge. Instead of making these intake manufacturers rich, lets educate ourselves and invest in mods that work and are worth the money. |

The CAI part of the aftermarket business is 75% BS. I want to be in the "$$ well placed" 25%. |

| Ill post pictures soon. Here is what I did. Take the intake box out and you will see a plastic tube inside the box. All I did was cut the tube out, and inside a cone filter at the end. Thats it. Ill be making a more reifned version soon. Ill post pics then. The key is to get the air in as fast as possible. You dont need any flashy piping thats long and draws "cold air" from the front. Trust me on this guys. I have dynoed more than enough cars claiming they are getting more power with a cold air set up. |

| Re: Cold air intake questions Hey rollhard, I just got into doing this mod, but I'm very visual (another way of saying ignorant)... and I'm afraid I'd mess something up really bad. What I've done so far is remove the extra filter built-in the top of the air intake box... it seems to help increase maybe a couple of ponies. Would you share some pics with me please? nordestada@yahoo.com
Thanks! |

| Re: Cold air intake throwing codes? I have a 06 XB and installed a Bomz CAI. It is now throwing codes VSC, TRAC OFF, Check Eng. It also hesitates going from 2nd to 3rd gear and is idling rough at 800RPM. Does anyone know if this is because of the carbon filter and is there any way of fixing this? If no fix will a K&N OEM filter work? Thanks. |

| Re: Cold air intake questions Ideally you would want to connect the code reader to the car and see what makes the lights come on. Most likely the MAF sensor is acting up. You can try cleaning it before buying a new one. Check DIY Articles Engine section for pics and instructions. |
