| Quinn (EvilScionGrrl) had posted that she had hesitation issues with her Weapon*R intake....... she has an '06 as well, could be a similar problem. Quote: |

I know they made some changes to the boxes for the 1\2 model year like steering wheel radio controls and such, but I was wondering if the newest ones may have the issues when adding the CAI. I really want one, but I want to make sure it will run OK. Thanks for the help. | |

| Careful when you install the intake on the 2006's all the "idiot" lights will come on and you'll need to reset your ecu. I have heard that the lights will continue to come on even after you reset it too... |

| Most of you guys live in Cali so you know, Cali has the strictest vehicle inspection laws on the books. Thats why every little performance part has to be CARB certified (california air research board) no TARB (texas air research board). But I have heard there is some crap you can add to your gas to pass any smog test except the visual inspection of course. |

| it's actually California Air Resouces Board for those that want to know.
the stuff you add only cleans your system and makes it burn a little hotter, it amounts to chevron tech clean,or lucas tune up in a bottle. if you really need to pass a tail pipe sniffer all you really have to do is use a propane tourch to heat the cat up while doing the test ( learned this from a smog certified mech, hehe my son). |

| Well, when we had smog checks here in Minnesota, there was only one way I could get my car to pass. All I did was put a bottle of rubbing alcohol in a half of a tank of gas. Passed everytime. Oh and it doesn't hurt to drive it like a raped ape to the testing station either. Also, if you have have a product called heet out there that works too. Heet is used to stop gas lines from freezing in the cold, also it takes the water out of the fuel lines. It's alcohol too!!! |

| I too have a CAI from AEM Park 21-567 not 21-572, my car is being glassed right now, so I don't have a way to install it to test. There's really no reason why this shouldn't work. It's a straight pipe with a filter on the end and room for the MAF sensor... done...
I'll know more next week when I get the car back from KustomAuto and actually install the CAI. I'll post reports if the other guy has had no success...

This is the 21-567:
More to read about this intake, which should outperform the AEM/TRD design due to the lack of bends and turns.... http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55160 |

| you know i just changed my air filter for the first time....since i have bought the car it has 6600 miles on it and i bought a wix filter from o'rielly's...i can tell a difference just by doing that..so if you don't have the money to buy an intake right away look in to doing that....i was amazed and could tell a big difference in the performance...it now pulls in low rpm's with 18s on it... |
