If you want to add a 6 speed trans. to a 1NZ-FE that is possible but finding the correct transmission is really hard! | there you go. |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap You can swap in a 2ZZ-GE with trans but you will need access to custom mounts, possibly custom axels, and a very good electrician. I know someone who successfully swapped a 1ZZ into his Echo (which uses same/similar mounts).. |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap so for this, engine swap is the best bet i think since head swap is not possible. |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap C160's are not hard to find. There are several on ebay right now...
Look into the 1nz-fxe from the prius. Bottom end + our top end should prove interesting gains on a standalone management system in theory. It's never been tried though... |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap C160 from a JDM Toyota Levin fits our 1NZ-FE, you will need to use your bell housing from the stock 5 speed, along with corolla s axel seals. |

Awesome setup. Any more info on it? Build pics anywhere? Quote:

I'm fairly certain the axles may bolt up, but I'm looking at this swap from a different angle than putting it on a 1nz. There was an article around a few years ago about installing a C160 onto a 1nz on scionlife.

That was Justin (AKA: Wraith on the forums), He Installed the C160 with the stock xB bell housing into his Echo. Note in that picture though the Echo has a 1ZZ-FE with supercharger, the new owner of the vehicle did that. When Justin had it there was a supercharged 1NZ-FE with a c160 installed. |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap ACTUALLY to my knowledge, the manual trans of the matrix DOES infact fit on the 1NZ. it is NOT the same tranny used on the manual xB, but it does share a simular bolting pattern and center shaft. it IS slightly longer than the xB's manual and requires a small bit of cutting to the subframe rail on the driver side of the engine bay. you'll need the gasket set for the Celica / Matrix setups for it to seal properly and the xB's axels to what i can remember, fit just fine on it. |

I forgot all about Justin. He used to have a 2.2L 5SGTE (3SGTE head, 5SFE block) 3rd Gen Camry
Currently he rocks a Sienna on some baller rims... |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap Hey guys, former xb owner, current 03 gts owner. Just to let you know, you will never get a 2zz head on a 1nz, and if you somehow did, you wouldn't have lift, which is the reason to get a 2zz, period. Would love to see a 2zz in an xb, it would be a reason to get my xb back. Good luck, I hope you get something done.
P.S. 2zz makes 180hp stock so PLEASE don't even think about a 1zz. Do it right get the vvtL-i. |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap I'm almost positive that even the 05's had 180 hp, the late models decreased rev limiter didnt change rated hp, I don't think. I really don't care to argue your comment on how you value the motor. As this is an xb forum, and I had an xb, I can tell you the transition to the gts was a good one. The 2zz in the xb would be a great compromise for someone that can't have a car without a useful backseat. How practical, or even possible the swap is, is yet to be known. But size, reliability, and power wise, its miles ahead of any other possible swap and much more over a boosted/Frankenstein 1nz. |

I had forgotten about celica GT-S's and was referring to the Matrix and Corolla XRSs, which had 164hp, not sure what the Celica had. Hell, if you wanna get technical you can grab a 2ZZ out of an Elise and terrorize the streets... |

| Re: 2zz-ge head swap Sorry if I sounded argumentative, I wasn't trying to be. I wasn't thinking of the corolla/matrix, them I wouldn't know about so your probably right. As far as the lotus transplant, only the ecu differs, and would bring extensive wiring problems. If not make it down right impossible, which is most likely. |
