| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion Yes, it is. I'm trying to find the part numbers for the wildwood stuff those kits use, specifically the system they use for the emergency brake (Since it says it's a wilwood part). Hopefully, I can find them and it will end up coming out cheaper. I'd love to have some Endless Micro6's all around. Quote:

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion I'm a dealer for Wilwood, and I called them about that combination caliper Friday. They said it would be available soon. I'm plan on coming out with a brake conversion when I can get my hands on some. |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion Ok first off, I know its not a Wilwood, but I decided to go ahead and get started on a basic drum to disc conversion. Then when I get this done, I am going to start on a Wilwood rear set-up to go with their Big Brake front kit. I went ahead and bought a rear assembly from hub to hub so I wouldn't have to have my xB out of commission for any length of time. Bare with the looks of the rotor, as it was also bought at a salvage yard for mock-up.
From this:
To this:
I now have the caliper brackets made and am waiting on the custom stainless flex lines to come in. All thats really left before testing is finishing up the parking brake cable. Let me know what you think. |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion A DIY would be nice. Wilwood is nice, but I'd like to go all the way and do an Endless setup. |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion sdsnybny, thanks for the links. As far as my kit. The caliper bracket alone will move the rear wheels out a little over 1/2", like the spacers I make. As far as adding camber, I don't know if I would try that or not. The caliper that I am using will have the parking brake as a part of the unit, not the drum style like the link you posted, so this unit should be lighter. Also, I have modified a rotor that has the same 4X100 pattern, so I don't have to swiss cheese it with another bolt pattern. When I get done, I plan on running it for about a month before putting it out on the market.
The kit will include, calipers (new/remanufacturered), pads, modified rotors (new), stainless flex lines and fittings, caliper brackets, and either new parking brake cables or adapters to use the stock parking brake cable.
I hope to be around the same amount, if not a little cheaper than that Phoenix kit, but have to get all the numbers on what I've done before saying for sure or not. |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion sounds great, so if you used hub camber/spacers such as OTG they would not work? i relize this would tilt the whole setup inbound on the top like the drum. How would this adversly effect the rotor/caliper set up? |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion Hey man, thanks for the referral on the spacers. I'm just getting started. Many more things to come. Maybe even a five lug conversion in the near future. But thats down the road. Right now focusing on this brake and another little project for the tC guys. |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion so basically as far as a write up is concerned , its not gunna happen cuz you wanna make money off this? just wondering if i should start fabbing my own shit now before i have to buy your stuff for thousands....
anyhow , i dont like the bbk like wilwood and endless cuz i would HAVE to run 17+ rims on my xb to clear those huge calipers. the toyota corrola rear disk was looking good cuz i can order some cross drilled rotors to match the front and still fit 15's. plus i hear bad news from wilwood brakes , like the rediculas stopping power that isnt needed with a wagon with 100hp. good pads all around a disk all around should be plenty of stopping power for me in this little boxcar. |

Unlike most people that make a ridiculous amounts of money off of items they make, I don't! Like spacers per say, how many places can you go and get 3/4" or 20mm ones for under $50.00. If I wanted to get rich off this stuff I would. But there is no need. I'd rather sell a hundred of an item than one or two to make the same amount. Its probably the wrong way to do business, but I've been doing it like that for the last 15 years, so.....
And as far as the Wilwood kit, yes they may be overkill, but to each his own. Which by the way, if anyone is interested in the Wilwood front kits, let me know I may be able to help you out on those. For those who would like to save some $$$$. |

| Re: wilwood rear disc conversion Well, I got the flexlines figured out and ordered, so they should be here in the next few days. Went ahead and ordered the new rotors as well. Had Toyota order a parking brake cable for me, to see if I can get the stock one to work. I'm gonna stick around the shop tonight and make the right size caliper brackets. Everything SHOULD be here by Friday! If so I'm gonna try to get it all installed and testing before the end of next week. I should also have some numbers figured out by then for pricing. |
