what does it all mean...?

so ya i lowered my car with coilovers a while ago and i noticed that my tires were wearing down on the inside of the wheel on each of my front wheels, it wasnt that bad so i ignored it, bad decision. today my front passenger side tire blew out. i was about 2 min away from scion of glendora so i just took the car there. i got two new tires and an alignment and 6 hours later my car rides like a champ, they gave me the alignment paper with all the readings on it and i was looking at it completely lost. lol. just wanted to know what you guys thought about it... (novel over)

Re: what does it all mean...?

andrew, you have a very bad toe, thats why the tires wears quickly. but now they brought it back with in specs.

oops, some of the specs(red) are still over the specified range.

Re: what does it all mean...?

your car is lowered. like what sid said, the red means that its out of the specified range. so you're good.

you need to have all the red corrected or with in specified range. I don't know if its ignorable.

Re: what does it all mean...?

First of all, your car must have been handling fantastic before the alignment. With 5.56 degrees toe-out on the front and 0.92 degrees toe-in on the rear, your "turn in" was quick (because of toe-out in front) and you had great stability (because of toe-in on the rear). That's a standard setup for a track car.

When tires are toed out AND have negative camber, the insides will wear out in a heartbeat... which, apparently, yours did. Conversely, toe-in and negative camber wears tires, but not even close to the rate that toe-out does. BTW, 5.56 degrees of negative toe (toe-out) is HUGE!

I wouldn't worry too much about the red numbers... it's probably as good as the tech could get it since your car is lowered. Toe is by far the biggest contributor to tire wear, and your fronts are almost dead-on straight. The slightly extra toe-in on the rear makes for a very stable driving experience.

Which coilovers did you put on and what are your thougths? i.e. amount lowered, spring rates, ride comfort, cornering, sway, etc.

Thanks,
Steve

um i like them a lot. im gonna have to take some pics of it. as far as the coilovers they are k-sports and im really happy with them, the ride is good and handles good too. i think they drop like 3.5 front and rear, not sure but they go hella low i know that.
