Are those the original design of the ES strut that uses the factory top hat?

Yes the original design used the stock top hats. I think you could possibly go with Cusco Camber plates. Personally I would not waste my time on the original design ES struts, they are going to clunk sooner or later.

what are you going to do with the UAs? smooth, the 2nd and 3rd gen came with their own top plates that had a bunch of hardware, rings, bushings, etc. You could make those plates work, but you would have to find all of that other stuff somewhere!

The 2nd+ gens have like white ceramic bushings that allow for minimal rotation so that the shaft does not twist...this design will be tough to reproduce if you are not using the ES equipment. Maybe ES can help you out...long shot tho

Re: What am i missing?

i dont think the drop plates will work with the 1st gen struts? it looks as though you have everything but the oem mounts (see pic below)

stepts to put together:

1 - put rubber washer on
2 - put larger metal washer on
3 - put small metal washer on
4 - put oem mount on
5 - put 1/2" nlyon lock nut on
6 - install and have fun
