| Re: tapping into digital kit Es will claim that the brain box will need to be reprogramed in order to do it, which meana downtime. This is reason number 651 why I hate the digital kit from es.
Just rewire the valves and disconnect the valve harness from the valves. Make sure the sending units are still connected to the brain box, for your read out. Wire in a real switch set up (switches get the bitches, buttons get nothing) and you will be good to go.
I did this on my cavalier, and it worked 100 times better. Also keep the ecu in manual control.
If I were you I'd sell the es kit, and get a dakota digital screen, new sending units, and a basic switch box. Dakota gauges are far more accurate than es will ever be. And will give you far less problems in the future. Because they don't need a brain box to opperate. |

| Re: tapping into digital kit well in a way i like the digital box because of the built in guages. the thing i dont like is cant control the air up and down like the rocker set up. the digital box is connected with an ethernet cable. what if i tap into each wire to a rocker setup. would that work? |

| Re: tapping into digital kit You should still be able to use the digital box for gauge read out only. As long as the senders are still connected to the ECU you'll be fine.
Just unplug the harness for the valves, re wire them to a real switch box, make sure the sending units are still connected to the ecu, and done.
If it doesn't work, just pull your re-wire off, and put it back to how it supposed to be. Or wait until someone else explains it a slightly different way, and then do it. Custom Auto Parts, Airbag Suspensions, Rollpans, Bumpers - Fender Bender International

| Re: tapping into digital kit I give up, you'll figure it out if you just read a wiring diagram that comes with the kit, or trace out all the wires. |

| Re: tapping into digital kit I think you are better off buying a Dakota digital gauge and a switchbox. Once you tap into that wiring you void the warranty and I also am willing to bet you will eventually cause the brain to be fried due to improper ground and then you will be buying the Dakota Digital set up anyway.
Just shop around until you find a good deal on a digital readout. |
