Monroe shocks and struts???

ok i've been looking through as many treads as i can and i think i'm more confused then when i started.
i'm currently running Tein S techs, for about a year now. stock struts and springs are going. put the Teins on with about 70K on the stocks.
are the monroe sensa-track ones the way to go?
these are from the echo.

front struts part #71575
rear shocks part #5870

if i do these will the car sit higher or lower or the same? are there any better suggestions around the same prices? i can't afford much more expensive. thanks for any info guys

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

There are a few options open here, but to answer your question, Monroe will sit you down 1/2" further than you are now. They are a shorter strut.

CRXGames and I are working on finding the right shock for the rear, that will take massive abuse from lowered car. But in his case, bagged car. Something that can take the bottoming out, or getting really close to it.

Basically once we get the rear Monroe shock stats, we'll be able to see if there is on to compare it with from Toxic Shocks.

So if anyone has the following info, please pass it on (not to thread jack, but could be a cheaper option to Monroe rears)

I need

Shock length
Shock travel
Shock length full compressed.

never mind on the Monroe stats. CRXGames found it.

(im too lazy too luck right now, damn History channel)

what is that shock for? what kind of car?
I am using shocks for a 93 Sienna van on my bagged box, and they do not go up as high any more, so the back is actually level with the front and lets the rear "axle" sit on the "frame" of the car before bottoming out.

Those are the specs for the monroe part #'s in the first post.

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

The only thing close to what we need is a loop to loop mount. Which will not work, because of our cars being loop to nut.

There may be one that will work. HOWEVER its a bit shorter than the Monroe. So for those on air, it shouldn't be a issue, but those on just drop springs, will probably be a issue.

I think Cody shot the guys over at Toxic Shocks a email to see if there is an application for our cars, or if they'd be interested in doing on.

So keep on watching.

Also, I also advised Cody to check BellTech. But I don't think the list application dimensions, only what it works with.

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

ok well i got thoes on today and the ride is much imporved. the only thing is now is that its rubbing on the front fender when i go over bumps. right where the fender and the bumper bolt up theres a small hump on the plastic. the only options that i think i have is to cut a hole in the wheel well, or to camber it.
also i got an alignment after i put in my 1/2 inch hub spacers. and only the passenger rear is rubbing on the fender. i need to do something soon otherwise i'm afrade the tire will get cut straight through. the only things i think i can do with that is a spacer/camber shim, roll the inside edge of the fender, or just take the spacer out(don't want to do that though)

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

Yeah, unless you want the extra 1/2" drop in front you need to run the Monroe front strut that's made for the xB. It keeps the front at the height as stock ones did but with much better (read softer) ride quality.

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

No, you only get the 1/2" drop with the Monroe front struts. The rear shocks will do nothing drop wise. Just soften up the rears ride quality.

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

Monroe makes a rear shock for the xB? What is the part number on that?

I am sitting on Tanabe lowering coil overs and stock shocks. I probably wont touch the front in less the Monroe shocks for the rear make me sit lower.

Re: Monroe shocks and struts???

My rears are 5601 and they will not lower your ride.

It makes your ride smoother.

They will allow you to go lower if your springs can and it will ride much smoother thats all.
