| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 thenn.. relocate the bag cups.. raise the strut towers to lower the car more up front
i am basing this off of basic minitruck bagging btw..
but this thread originally wanted shorter shocks so what was my first post about haha
like.. if you raise the actual area where the struts bolt to up an inch you are actually lowering the car by an inch, and the opposite when you have a spacer inbetween the top of the strut and where the struts bolt to.
its like doing a Body drop on a frame'less car.. but it is hard to do it right, cutting, welding, measuring and then you face the fact that if you go too high up.. it might hit other things in the way.
this way of doing it is a good way to lower a car with out losing the stock ride of the car and not touching much of the suspension.

| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 ^ I run mine flipped too. You have to trim down all the bolts in the tower to keep from blowing bags. I learned that one the hard way as well. |

| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 ^yeap. Cody is correct. When we were taking his bag off, it was like only 1/4" of a screw sticking out that destroyed it. LOW CLEARANCE! lol. |

| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 Hmmm, interesting. Unless I run big wheels I don't think I will be cutting up the towers. or until I cut up more stuff, cause the car is sitting on the ground as it is. |

| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 Yeah, the shock just bolt right up. Once the air shock were on, I just filled them to about 70psi using a schrader valve. You can hook it up to your tank or to some valves, but I didn't. I'm just using them as shocks to keep the ride smooth . |

| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 bringing this back to life: people going from the stock rear struts to the 5867's, how big of a difference did you see in drop? i dont care about lift at all as long as it clears the tire when driving.
long shot, but anybody have any ideas to lowering the front with chassistech front end? |

| Re: i need a shock shorter than a 5870 What rear bag brackets are you running? With my 17" wheels with monroe shocks, my swing arm is completely collapsed as it will go without removing it and doing a custom 4 link or something. My xA is the lowest it's going to get with my 17"s without doing away with the whole rear swing arm. So unless you have a custom rear swing arm or bigger wheels than 17" I'm not sure why the 5870s do not fit for you..? |

Thats the shock im currently testing.. I realized that monroe sensa track in general isnt a good choice for air ride at all because of the variable rate control design. Most peoples normal ride settings are at low pressure which means it puts the shock at its stiffer position.. They seem to fight each other. |

I also didn't rub up front like I do now with the Easy Street struts |
