I'm driving on 15x8 +15 wheels with Hankook radial K-106 tires (195/50). Since they're stretched to 8" and their only recommended up to 7" I think that's why I hydroplane easier than I did on my stock Goodyears. I also only really had problems during really heavy downpour and high wind so it may just be a one off.

Re: How Does Your xB handle In The Rain?

My '09 goes all over the road in the rain...I have to either not take it or rearrange the trip to take the back roads cause on the highway it's like driving on ice...anything over 45 and I'm gonna wind up in the ditch. I'm running what came on it, the bridgestone turanza 205 55 R16's on scion rims. Only have 14K miles on the xb, so plenty of tread left. I have never had this problem back to and including running 60 racing tires on old mustangs in the Chicago winters back in the day. If I can't fix it the XB will have to go!
Will someone with tire knowledge post a tire brand, make model and size that I can put on so I can actually take my xb on a trip without looking on the weather channel for rain?? Thanks!

Re: How Does Your xB handle In The Rain?

My xB (1st gen) does pretty good in the rain. I haven't had it out in the snow (I've only had it a week). I was happy with it in the rain, but then again I am used to RWD. So I am sure that anything FWD will feel good to me, since I don't have much experience with them.
