Re: how bad is it to run lowered springs with stock shocks?

I've put about 30K miles on mine since installing H-Techs with no problems. But that's the mildest drop springs you can get.
May also depend on the weight of your wheels/tires and sidewall.

my car had 45k when i put on Spy springs (big drop, around 2.75in)

it has 51k now and i am replacing the shocks/struts because its too bouncy IMO

You should NEVER put lowering springs on STOCK struts.

I yell at CRXgames all the time for buying the UAS air ride kit. Because that requires you to use the stock struts to mount the bags.

Re: how bad is it to run lowered springs with stock shocks?

you should not, but you can. I am going on 45xxx miles on my stockies, and have not seen any issues yet. But I did have mine revalved when I dropped it, to compinsate for the drop.

Re: how bad is it to run lowered springs with stock shocks?

I am dropped on goldlines which are way low. tried to run the stock shocks for about a minute... every bump was torture, slamming to the deepest depth of the stockies. Tossed some monroes on the rear & now my only problem is my dc exhaust whacking the ground over the same bumps. I just cant win.

To answer you question, you CAN get away with it depending on your drop springs, but if you got the cash, since you got it pulled apart anyway, you might as well drop the extra few bucks in & do it right the first time rather than having to pull it apart again later..

Re: how bad is it to run lowered springs with stock shocks?

i have already replaced my stock shocks with monroes and i think they are starting to go as well! of course im bagged, so they get to see a heck of alot more travel than just your ordinary dropped box. but definitely get the monroes....very nice ride to them!

May have to do that. I still need to hack my rear brackets to get the back lower. May get an H-brace for dragging up front though. Now that I'm sitting on the swaybay that should do it.
