Cutting bumpstops?

Should I cut my bumpstops for the front struts when I put my new struts on since I have lowering springs?(Have been rolling with no bumpstops for awhile because my dog ate one during lowering spring install.lol Had to get another one from Toyota.)I had to do this with some eibachs I put on a 240sx because the struts are already compressed more than stock because of the springs.Told me to do it in the directions..

Re: Cutting bumpstops?

On our boxes it will depend on the drop springs you have and that manufactures directions. example; you cut your stock bumps for your Eibach's on the 240sx per directions but My Eibach's said not to cut the bump stops for my 06 xB. You should be able to find install instructions on the Manufactures website specific to each cars application. Which drop springs do you have on your xB?

Re: Cutting bumpstops?

I would like to know the answer to this as well. I had to cut my bump stops when I installed my Tein S-Techs (per Tein's directions). I have just ordered a set of Tokico HTS shocks/struts for an Echo and I am wondering if I would need to cut the bump stop more because the front perch is 1/2" lower.
