| Re: anyone ever heard this? Replacement pads can run anywhere from $30 to $80 depending on the style of bake pad (OEM replacement or upgrade to sport/ceramic). It's also a good time to have the rotors 'turned' or buy new rotors. I believe OEM replacement rotors run about $85 each. Check with your local autoparts stores to see about the cost of turning rotors. |

| Re: anyone ever heard this? I highly recommend you stay away from Duralast as well. Create so much dust, and have a lot of brake fade. |

| Re: anyone ever heard this? There is no need for drilled and slotted on our cars.
If your going to upgrade just slotted is more than enough.
All they do is help to releave gases created from the brakes pad contacting the rotors. Our cars don't have enough weight to aid in creating excessive gas creation, and really the only one fast enough is 1bad who has a small block swap. Lol.
Now an exception to the speed rule is those who autocross or those who road race and time attack. The brake pressure, heat, and gasses that are generated are much more than any of your daily commutes will create. So for that slotted will be benifical to aiding in the braking.
However there are those who do it for the look. And when they do that they tend to go with low quality junk from ebay vendors.
Be aware these super cheap set ups are the same in quality. Many people who have bought these have noticed that the rotors will start to crack from where an oem blank was drilled and sold cheap. The heat build up on the now weak surface can't take it and problems start to occur.
Some more info for you. Upgraded brake rotors require a break in. Be sure to perform the steps in order to achieve proper braking.
Brakes are a MAJOR componet to your car. Cheap can cost you a lot, a car, a injury, or a life. Not something I feel is worth risking on a look, or a cheap upgrade gone wrong.
Take what I've posted how you will, do what you want and what satisfies your needs, but you've are now aware of the risk you could be taking, and how the upgraded rotor work. |

| Re: anyone ever heard this? I just replaced my pads. They were OEM and there were no warning sensors on them. Only thing I heard was metal to metal. Changed 'em immediately but they had already eaten away a little at my rotors. Not so bad that they need turned or replaced. If you buy something other then the OEM ones make sure they've got sensors! |
