What would cause this??

On my passenger side, the inside brake pad is wearing a lot quicker than the outside pad. I had my brother in law change my brake pads yesterday, and the inside pad was practically down to the metal whereas the outside pad had a little bit left. I know that brake calipers are expensive so I'm hoping nothing is wrong with mine and I end up having to replace it.

Lubricate the slide pins (they have rubber boots around them). Use lithium based grease. And have the rotors machned.

It's lithium from the factory. May be you'd want to clean the old grease out not to mix them together.

What do you mean by having the rotors machined? Is it possible one side of my rotors is worn more than the other side?

Possible, especially after the pads were not wearing properly. Resurfacing the rotors will straighten them out, help the new pads seat properly against the rotors, etc. Just the proper way to do it.

Like PCH said, clean and lube the slide pins. Calipers have to "float" to work right. When one side hits the rotor before the other, the caliper needs to be able to slide to center itself so the force is equal on both sides. If the caliper won't slide well enough or at all, the first pad to touch will be doing too much of the work.
