Heavy wheels power loss

I see some of you guys with huge wheels on your boxes. I've been looking at a somewhat "tame" 18" VIP style rim in chrome and even at this size most are 30+ pounds. How much power loss are you guys feeling from running hoops this heavy?

Re: Heavy wheels power loss

not too much cause I added a header, intake and exhaust...it is still a bit sluggish off the line but the rolling mass helps keep you rolling at highway speeds.

more unsprung rolling mass slow you down just a bit... I just went down from 18's to 15's and I notice a very slight difference...

Re: Heavy wheels power loss

I was just curious it being a fairly powerless engine and all :P. It'll see little mileage but its nice to know I can still pass a vehicle at a reasonable pace without needing a mile to get it up to speed.
