| Subwoof / box direction? I was wondering about the subwoofer/box direction. I point my box towards the rear hatch so it thuds against the door, but ive seen people aim it up to the roof. Which is better? |

| Re: Subwoof / box direction? Well you could try both and see what sounds best to you. I have mine firing up as it is in a box where the storage compartment use to be.

| Re: Subwoof / box direction? No, bass is omnidirectional. face subs to the front of the car and the subs will punch really hard. But the boominess is gone. Just the opposite if the subs face to the rear. face into the floor and you'll get a happy medium. Not a fan of subs pointing up. don't like the sound quality. It's all science really. how far the sub is from the point in which your ear is will also affect the sound quality. Like the Intrepid/300C/Concorde/LHS from Chrysler. push the subs up to the rear seat with the subs facing backward and there is no bass in the car. the forward and rearward soundwave cancels itself out. |

| Re: Subwoof / box direction? Ive tried several different box's both sealed and ported and facing in every direction possible.
The best sound I have gotten was facing up and using a ported box.
Single 12" in a 3.3cf box tuned to 22hz..its a very big box for a single 12" and a much lower tuning than most would use but it sounded fantastic. |

I've got a Sony enclosure that is rear facing. If I face the subs up, it has a little more punch, but doesn't fit well because of the angled back. I'm happy with it as is...hits the lows really well. |

| Re: Subwoof / box direction? If you are looking for more bass then they should be facing the rear of the vehicle. It gives the note time to travel it's full length. With that being said try it in different positions and see what you like. After all you are the one listening to it lol |
