| Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE So I want to get new speakers in the doors and the dash and possibly subs in the back.
=Problems=
-First MAJOR problem is that I am pretty sure my warranty doesnt let me do it all by my self, because it would void the warranty. Should I just wait till my warranty is up then mess around with the audio? (3 year 30,000 bumper to bumper).
-I am so confused of what to do I dont really wanna pay a lot, I already have 6 1/2s for my doors I am just not sure what to do AT ALL.
-Last problem, for my subs I am not sure if I should get two or one because of various reasons
- too much power?
- I dont want to take up a lot of room in the trunk either
Thank you.

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE I don't think proprly installed system should void the warranty. Browse Showoff thread- tons of cool setups there.
And as always: |

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE yeah if the system is installed right, and professionally, it all can be removed and never know it was in there.
on the number of subs, depends on how loud you want, what kind of music you listen to also plays in what size sub. |

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE depends on how much room you are willing to loose, and thats where the professionals come into play with this is building customs boxes. But most are not that cheap. If you are only wanting "some sound" then you may want to look into building boxes for under the front seats, THOSE you would be able to build yourself with basic woodworking skills. |

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE hey check out sonicelectronix.com. they have amazing prices and are awesome to work with. i have had a lot of systems and i have heard a lot of others and when it comes to good sound and bang for your buck, so far i am most impressed with kicker. their 10" dual voice coil CVRs pound really good and you can get them for like 80 bucks a piece off that site. kicker alslo makes some shallow mount subs that i have heard good stuff about that would take up less room.
hope this helps out. |

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE I custom made my sub box, I wanted it to take very little space, so it fits on the drivers side in the back.....I made it with a step in it, so that the bump/rear shock covers in the back was covered by the sub.....it bumps pretty good, I'm not opposed to buying a professionaly made one, it's just cheaper to make your own lol. |

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE current setup - 2x 8 inch TB W740p's, 300watt rms total. vented design tuned to 35hz and breaks the 120db mark with great sound quality *higher bass notes are a bit weak though*
next setup - 2x 12 inch Peerless XLS's, 600watt rms total, passive radiator design tuned to 27.5hz and models show touching 130db mark in the xB, AWESOME sound quality period.
amplifier used for both setups is a JBL Crown BPX500.1 780watt capable amp.
as an example, this all can used safely without voiding any warrenty. me fiberglassing the boxes into the quarter panels still doesn't void warrenty for the exception of the quarter panel interior pieces not being covered anymore due to the modification.
also you wont need to worry about blowing windows out and such unless you're pushing upwards of 140db. even then you'd more than likely have your windows rolled down. if not... i would suggest plexi replacements lol.

| Re: Sound system HELP!!! I WANT MY BOX TO QUAKE The Magnusson Moss Act prevents the dealer from voiding a warranty due to aftermarket modification. They would only be able to void a portion of the car only if it was damaged by that modification. So install away as long as you don't fry anything. |
