scion xb ice upgrade...noob here

whats up guys im getting a scion within a couple of days and im used to hondas so i have a few questions about the xb and suggestion for upgrading the speakers....first and foremost im getting the 06 with the volume and track control on the steering wheel. im thinking about getting the pioneer avic-d2 in dash tv. would the steering wheel buttons still work with that pioneer radio or only the factory radio? #2 the scion xb has 6 speakers today what are the sizes of the speakers in the 6 locations and any suggestions on speakers to upgrade to? #3 of course the back area is small any suggestion on a sub box to get should i go with 1 or two twelves? thanx in advance guys im just trying to get a headstart on the learning curve...

thanx for the all the views and no responses guys....

To start congrats on the buy

1. I would go with the avic z-2 or at least the d-3 ( the d-2 does not play
dvd ) and you would have to buy a pac switch for the swc to work
2. the 6 speakers are 4 6 1/2 and 2 tweeters ( In the front doors and cargo
area I belive )
3. You can go custom enclosure or a sub box should fit

I'm not sure if best buy sells the but I know u can get it at crutchfield.com
Item #127SWIPS it cost $69.99 that is the one for pioneer but the have for other brands. Also if you are getting an 08 xB then the speakers are in the front and rear doors. Good luck

Re: scion xb ice upgrade...noob here

for thw sub, get it custom done either under the passenger seat or under the back storage. i have both with kicker cvt 10s. look under the audio section or search "my audio setup" for some pics.

welcome to the xb family

dude i want a some nice subs that get loud and are very accurate with minimal air space you can look into ed 8inch subs, or the entry level digital design entry level 8in subs or the 10in image dynamics idq

Re: scion xb ice upgrade...noob here

on the subs I would go with either a sub in a truck box or a custom enclosure like the one pictured above. I went with a kicker L5 in a truck box with a kicker 400.1 on it and it bumps pretty good. Also when you do your door speakers up front make sure you get a big enough spacer so they dont hit the window track.
